by Ania1

Green signs point the ways for cyclists. You can travel as fast as you want, safe and free of other traffic. In Bornholm, there are about 250 km of bicycle paths with plenty of hills and flat stretches. It just depends which route you choose.Anyway, northern part is mostly hilly. There are even stretches at a slant of 14 per cent ! So watch out for the speed of your bike :) It is easy to find right way. Cycle path signs are everywhere and give precise info of distances (in km).

BAT ( Bornholm County Transport Company) – will take the bicycle and its exhausted rider on board. It's hourly busservice between all major towns on Bornholm. We rode by bus only 2 times but i read about :THE HANDICRAFTS BUS – which visits workshops and studios in working hours,THE VETERAN BUS- which visits a number of unique oldfashioned places,THE FARM BUS- which takes visitors to selected farms,THE GARDEN BUS- which visits a number of beautiful gardens,THE MEDIEVAL BUS- which visits sites related to Bornholm's Middle Ages,THE NATUR BORNHOLM BUS- which brings you to the underground of Bornholm.

by Portugirl

The train is a great way to get to and around Denmark, especially if you have an all-section interrail pass. If you take the overnight train, from germany to Denmark, you'll have the incredible experience of traveling inside of the train while the wagons are inside of a huge ferry themselves. This way you travel by two types of transportation at the same time!:) Also, the views from the ferry are very nice when arriving.Take care and safe trips!!

by Bluangel79

We fly out of the US on SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) airlines. We feel it is the best airline. Very pleasant flights ( and I am not a great flyer). Getting around Denmark is easy by car or train. Once in a location, bicycling is the transportation of choice.

There are many ways getting to denmark. From Germany it easiest to travel there by car.Because our Bungalow was located very isolated, we had to get around by car too. Walking to the beach and to the next shop was possible.

by hokeypokey

This depends on where in denamrk you want to get to. If you´re coming from germany you can easily access denmark by car. If you want to get to Copenhagen: there´s a train going from Hamburg to Puttgarden/ Fehmarn where the train gets shipped over to Roedby and rolls on to Copenhagen. It takes about 5 hours, as far as i can remember and you have to have a reservation. If you´re coming from elsewhere i´d take the plane to be the best connection to anywhere. Fly into copenhagen airport.

by bmoudy

For air transportation to Denmark i chose discountairfare.com but other sights for cheap accomadation are cheaptickets and counseltravel.com. For about 400$ you can travel from anywhere in the states, to anywhere in Europe using one of these three companies. I've been doing a lot of mountain biking here, and the busses/trains are a great way to do the long distance stuff. For an extra 20 kroner you can bring your bike on the bus/train. The transportation system in Denmark is very efficient and very prompt.
