Soodla river is good to go for canoe trip - river banks are covered with Alnus glutinosa - this is tree what is not tasty to beavers who are usually building dams or just chop down trees onto river.
Soodla is not wide and fast, it´s slow and narrow and very curvy. You can select different starting points, we started our trip for example from Paukjärve twin bridge. Down the river You will reach Soodla water reservoir, what is the far part of water supply system of Tallinn.
There are very few houses nearby because this part of Estonia was former soviet military polygon and closed for people. There are still some farm places You can recognize, abandoned over half a century ago. There is a place where one of Estonian famous writers was visiting relative at summer time - this is camping place now with small exhibition and roofed pavillion.
By hiking forests of Aegviidu, visit the watching towers. One You kan find in venemäe, it´s on the direction from Aegviidu to Paukjärve lake, maps You can find on crossroads and can buy from tourist info center or local forest centers.
Bridges crossing the river are different. Some are built for tank crossing (by former soviet military bases), some only for walking.
