    Buy a Tallinn Card

    by cheekymarieh Updated Apr 4, 2011

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    This is the cheapest way to see the city if you plan to visit a few museums and landmarks. Depending on the type of card you purchase you will also be able to jump on a city sightseeing tour, use public transport and obtain freebies- a copy of Tallinn In your Pocket (an incredibly informative publication) and a selection of Tallinn postcards. You have a choice of 6 hours (which does not include the city sightseeing tour) – 90EEK (6 Euro), 24 hours – 250EEK (16 Euro), 48 hours – 300EEK (19 Euro) and 72 hours – 350EEK (22.5 Euro). You can buy the card at the Tourist Information Offices, Tallinn Airport, various travel agencies and some hotels.

    We did not have a need to buy a Tallin card, but we did see them for sale in the Old Town below Toompea where I would not have expected it. Public transport is free if you have a Tallinn Card, although in Old Town there are no buses or trams because the streets are too narrow.

    Apparently you can get it on line. An adult card costs 12 EUR for 6 hours to 32 EUR for 72 hours. The 6 hour card doesn't include all of the items on the longer length cards.

    Tallinn Card is:

    • non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for other types of cards;
    • valid only when the date and time are marked on the card;
    • valid for only one admission to each establishment.

    Free with Tallinn Card:
    public transport
    Hop-on hop-off Tallinn City Tour
    Niguliste Museum
    Adamson-Eric Museum
    Tallinn Art Hall
    Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design
    Museum of Estonian Architecture
    Kadriorg Palace - Kadriorg Art Museum
    Mikkel Museum
    Kumu Art Museum
