In addition to the beach along the Baltic Sea, the Pirita section of Tallinn has a large path on which you can walk or ride a bike. Since my visit was in late October (not in the summer), the Pirita area was fairly deserted when I was there. I have been told that it is a popular outdoor spot in the summer months.
Pirita is a suburb north-east of Tallinn city. It has the the flair of a spar with a lovely beach, the Olympic Sailing Centre, a botanic garden, the ruins of St. Brigittas Convent and the TV tower. The restaurant of the towver offers a great view on down town Tallinn.
Several buses are rolling towards Pirita: #1a, #5, #8, #34a, #38
On the road to Pirita you will pass a huge monument nicknamed Pinocchio’s Grave or Impotent's Dream. The obelisk is ugly but a typical Soviet style monument. Not many visitors come here. The city hasn´t any plan with it and its only a question of time when the monument will decline.
