controvento: when italian food does not mean good food
We chose this Italian restaurant for two reasons: the menu did not contain stepping mistakes (hence it was really italian) and its romantic location in Saint catherin walk. It was a hot day and eating outside turned out very pleasant...
Favorite Dish: We had grilled artichokes (wonderful) a pasta dish (insignificant) and a pizza (very mediocre). This restaurant is only recommended because of its atmosphere.
Controvento: Quality Italian
Possibly the best Italian restaurant in Tallinn, it easily competes with other restaurants in Europe and is very reasonably priced. The pizzas are excellent - cooked in a wood fired stone oven. The ambience is cosy, and the location down the medieval Katariina Passage is perfect.
And when you see the most famous TV chef in Estonia eating dinner there, you know it has to be good!
It´s located in a little alley and dosen´t look like much from the outside. On the inside though it´s really nice. The food there is delicious and the prices are a litte higher than average but worth it!
It will be a good idea to reserve a table.
Controvento: Wonderful Italian food
You will find this restauarant in St Catherines Passage which is quite famous in itself. Make sure you reserve a table as it gets very very busy. Also dont accept a table downstairs, upstairs is much nicer.
The food is delicious. My friend had minestrone to start and was presented with a huge bowlful of wonderful soup - but way to much for just a starter so be warned. We all thought the pasta dishes were very good.
It is more expensive that the average restuarant but the food is worth it.
Controvento: Charming street
Nice Italian restaurant in a superb location in the Old Town. It's really worth every penney if you get a table outside. The staff weren't very smiley but were very proffesional and even friendly. I'd recommend it without a doubt.
Favorite Dish: Pizza
This restaurant recommended to me by my VT friend HORSCHECK. It is located in one small street in the old city. It has traditional Italian food of pasta, pizza, meat & fish. Prices are very tempting and not expensive at all compare to the old city.
Controvento: Controvento - Italian restaurant
Controvento - Italian Restaurant
A nice italian restaurant in a renovated medieval house located in an atmospheric alleyway of Tallinn.
Favorite Dish: Crostini brushetta, Pomodoro mozzarealla
