Saiakangi Cafe is rather new, at list to me, yet another of the trendy coffee places here where you can have a break while hanging around in the city. The serve the typical coffee and cakes, self service from the counter.
We read good recommendations of this cafe from other VTs and the restaurant really lives up to the good comments. The place is easy to find, just in an alley near to the Town Square, hard to miss the beautiful red flowers at the door front. They serve pastries, cakes, salad and hot food at reasonable price.
This place is something of an Estonian institution, having been open to the public for decades. In Communist times it was famous for its ice-cream, now it is a sedate and cosy coffee shop serving up traditional Estonian cakes with a smile, along with coffees and teas of various descriptions. It's location, just off the main square and underneath the Church of the Holy Ghost is just perfect.
