Trendexpress: Waccy shoe store
Tallinn has plethora of shoe stores, at least compared to Helsinki. Trendexpress is one the wackiest I encountered. The store is located in Viru Keskus in central Tallinn and the selection is geared towards younger generations.
The store itself is worth of visit as an experience. The floor is wavy, some shelves are moving up and down in circular motion, and there are cameras on the floor to show the shoes on a monitor at your eye level.
The shoes are reasonably priced and you may well make some good finds. The staff is helpful, but you have to ask first -- as usual in Tallinn.
NS King: Ordinary shoes
NS King is an ordinary shoe store in Viru Keskus with good selections. If you are not looking for anything extra fancy or a pair out-of-the-ordinary boots, this store is a good choice for buying shoes.
They have a full range of shoes and boots for ladies, gents and children. The shoes are inexpensive, at least when compared to my native Finland shoe stores. The styles, colours and models are fashionable enough for everyday use.
Note that there are other good shoe stores in Viru Keskus, too. Don't be satisfied with the first one, but shop around.
Suurtüki: Yet another big shoestore
Tallinn seems to have a lot of midprice shoe stores. There are several Estonian or Baltic chains operating in the town. In Kristiine shopping center we spotted Suurtüki that lured us in with an excellent children shoe selection.
The big store is located on the second floor of the shopping center. They sell shoes and boots for ladies, gentlemen and children. There are also some accessories and bags on sale, but nothing else. The shoes are of fine quality and they look like having a good price quality ratio. Most of the brands were unknown to me, so this is a good store if you buying more the shoe and less the brand.
Camper: These shoes are made for walking
Camper, the Spanish shoemaker that focuses on both comfort and style, has opened its own boutique to Foorum shopping center in very central Tallinn. The shopping center is located a block from Viru Hotel, and thus is worth visiting for even in shorter trips in town.
The store itself is very similar to other Camper stores I've visited around the world. Shoes and boots are put on display on aesthetically pleasing way and you can see in one fast glance whether there is something worth trying for. The prices are also international, so this is not the cheapest shoe store in the town.
