Public transportation around Tallinn
If for whatever reason you decide to spend your entire time in Tallinn in the Old Town, you will not need any kind of transport except some good shoes. (The only form of public transport you will find in the Old Town are taxis.)
However, if you want to see the entire city, it is worth knowing that public transport is free if you have a Tallinn Card. Tallinn has an extensive network of buses that can take you to every one of its sites of interest. If you don't have a Tallinn Card, purchase your tickets in advance (it is cheaper than buying them on the bus) at one of the many kiosks, many of which are right next to a bus stop.
Tallinn also has some tram lines, but these are of lesser interest, since most of them take you into residential neighbourhoods. Lines 1 and 3, however, connect the city centre to the Kadriorg.
