Purtse castle

Castle locates in Purtse village - one oldest settlements in Eastern Estonia. Building of stronghold began in during the Dutch time in 1533 by Jakob van Taube.The building has had many functions during its existence. It has been the home of a feudal family, offered protection in times of war and in later times it has served as a cold cellar, milk chamber, grain storage, a prison and a workers' residence.Purtse castle is built in gothic style with renaissance elements. Walls are 6 metres tall.Today castle can be rented for party or wedding.

Toila - three fishes

Three fishes is another legendary place of Toila park. It is an fountain. The water runs in to the huge plate from fishes mouths. This fountain is integrated to the stone wall of palace (ruined). Three fishes is extremely interesting place for children.

Toila sea resort is also a place of concerts and festivals. Becouse of this there is nice concet-scene created in the picturesque park of Toila. There are sitting places in open air. In summer time there are different concerts organised. One local traditional party is a "Miner's day" when thousands of people come here and have fun.

Kohtla-Jarve is the city on the northern part of the Ida-Virumaa county, it is situated near town of Johvi (13 km). Kohtla-Järve is 4th largest city in Estonia. It is industrial city that has grown during Soviet time, thanks mines located nearby. City rights it got after World War II.
