Places to eat in Kohtla-Jarve

The restaurant is newly renovated and the tables are set with table cloths, wine glasses, and a candle-lit...nothing particularly special here. I ate hear a few times while I was in town, and everything I tried was excellent. The food is professionally prepared and delicious. There is a selection of a few Estonian beers to choose from. Service was great, but typical slow pacefrom what I've seen. The prices are fair.
The menu actually has quite a few selections to choose from. There were about 1/2 dozen soups to choose from and several meat and seafood main dishes.

Favorite Dish: The red borsh soup was good. My trip companions liked the other soup choices as well. During one of the meals I tried the Russian dumpling appetizer - excellent. They are coated with onions and a sweet sauce.
For main meals, I tried a chicken dish and a couple beef dishes. The chicken was cut into small pieces and mixed with vegetables and potatoes and covered with what tasted similar to sweet & sour sauce, spiced with paprika - excellent choice. I also tried the beef casserole. The dish appears small, but is actually quite a bit of food - I was unable to finish it. The casserole includes marinated beef strips and a mixture of vegatables (onions, peppers, squash) and is topped with a flaky biscuit. The meat was a bit on the tough side, but the flavor was good. I also tried the other beef dish on the menu, it had some goat cheese, potatoes and a sauce. This was my favorite of the three dishes I tried. The one dessert I tried was the chocolate cake. It was a refrigerated mousse-like cake that was not very sweet, but enjoyable.
