Fondest memory: For me, it is quite cool feeling of how close the another country is, despite of the difficulty to cross such a short way to get there. Estonian and Russian citizens need a visa to visit each other's countries nowadays...
On the photo you can see Ivangorod fortress as it is seen from Estonian side of the border. When you stand on the place from where the picture was taken, you can see people on another bank of the river, taking sunbathes, when border guargs with AKMs are passing by...

Favorite thing: Going in fortress, pay attention to museum's exhibition, which describes history of the city, shows some things used in medieval times, how city looked centuries before. Some storeys are dedicated to photo- and painting exhibitions of Narva photographers and painters. When I was in this museum, I was impressed by exhibition 'Narva - Swedish city', sponsored from Sweden, and one small room next to stairs in the fortress's tower, which was actually a knights' WC, preserved in the same state as it was used in XVI century...

Favorite thing: Go to fortress. Anyway, you have no choice - you will go there, because there is the only tourist information beaureau I noticed in the city. There is also an Estonian-Russian border very close to the fortress. Actually, border comes along the Narva river, one bank of which is town of Narva, and another one is Russian town of Ivangorod; these two towns see at each other from the walls of their fortresses. Narva's fortress looks a bit better - it is better preserved and has a museum inside.
On the photo you can see both fortresses. Nearest walls are walls of Narva fortress, of course.

Favorite thing: The history of the grand Castle of Narva dates back to the time of Crusaders' dominations over the Baltic. In the end-thirteens century the Danes founded there a sturdy fortification.

Favorite thing: When you enter the fortress, you will see these bells. Not a tsar-bell as in Moscow, but anyway rather interesting. You can think of it as of symbol of Russian Orthodox church.
