The White Beach, is located just 10 kilometres from P?rnu.It?s nowadays a camping site with white sand beaches and pinewood.There is also the summer cottage of former Communist Party leaders, which is now opened for public. It serves as a finnish owned time share resort.
As you can see there is a very busy airport with tight squedual..Actually this place is about 30miles from the Parnu city and is very magical. I saw some wood boats, old fences and a lighthouse, lovely sunset and great place to hide away with someone special.
Many people miss the historical side completely... And it's a pity - here's an example! Red Tower: It is probably the most ancient building in the whole town of Parnu, built by the Knights of the Sword, who constructed a fort here when they came to this land in the thirteenth century. It was quite obviously reconstructed since those days, but they tried to make it look like its thirteenth-century original. And as I found out later (here they are, the benefits of hindsight on the road!) the Red Tower, or the Punane Torn as it is called in Estonian, is a good, extremely convenient place to start an overview sightseeing excursion in Parnu, as many other sights and cosy cafes and attractive shopping places are situated quite nearby. So, let us hire a bicycle (yes! you will soon realize it is the best form of transportation in Parnu) and head to the junction of Ruutli tanav and Hommiku...
One of the places you should visit if interested in more than just the beach of Pärnu and crowds of other tourists is the Soomaa National Park, actually a Soomaa Land of Bogs.The best way to explore the natural treasures of Soomaa is certainly along the river ways, maybe by canoe or perhaps by using the Finno-Ugric ancient one-log boat carved out of Aspen which has been used against the flooding adversity through the centuries
Most travellers are taken to Pärnu by a tourist bus. Often they are driven right into the city centrum where they can make their shoppings and walk around a few blocks. In afternoons their program continues at local restaurants or at the beach.But Pärnu is much more than a few streets of small boutiques, three hotels and a beach. From its shape Pärnu is a narrow but long city and there is much to see in other places than the centrum which is quite similar to those of other European towns.One place I recommend you to visit is Häädemeeste, a place located 30 min. driving south of Pärnu. It is a small fishing village. Don't expect to see any amazing buildings there but enjoy the peaceful nature and all the friendly people. The prices at a local pub are cheap so a group of 4 people can easily eat at the price of one in the centrum's prices.Probably the main reason for recommending visiting...
This places You can discover in Soomaa Bog Protection Area near Pärnu. Beavers take their jubs seriously and it's something to show for tourists, too.
Pärnu traveller should definitely take a walk at the Stone Jetties which was built in 1764. All the rocks are not definitely stable... :)
Old Pärnu. It's on the road to Pärnu Airport. Many nice wooden houses and quiet streets on right side of river Pärnu.
