Kolumbus Krisostomus: The Sound of Colors *

by cabessas

At first, what atracts on this place is the decoration. Each of the walls is painted with a different color and also the floor. The green, the blue. the orange, the yellow, all the colors blend together to a very good efect! You can not only have a meal but there is also a room where some nights there are live music performances! The food is quite tasty; there is a balcony where you step into a choose exactly what you are going to eat. The next time I go to Tallinn, I won't miss the grilled salmon! :)

Bocca: Brilliant Italian restaurant

by pintti

A brilliant restaurant in the heart of old town. Very simple and modern interior, very good service and above all excellent food. Simple, tasty and no nonsense Italian. Not the most inexpensive, but well worth the money.

Anneli Vikk Chocolates: Chocolate in Tallinn

by KayDenmark

Annelli Vikk, at Pikk 30, has the finest handmade chocolate in Tallinn, although the truffles at Bonaparte (across the street at Pikk 45) come close. The best hot chocolate in town is at Chocolaterie at Vene 6 - high priced and for tourists only, but exceptionally tasty and a good vacation memory. This cafe also has great atmosphere, and is child-friendly. Kehrwieder, a friendly spot in the touristy City Hall Square, has so-so hot chocolates and giant, brick-like truffles. The local mass-produced chocolate, Kalev, is perhaps an acquired taste, but kids love "Dragons", lemon-flavored caramels beloved by generations of Estonians. The "Madame Butterfly" heart-shaped truffles are exceptional.

Restaurant Magic Buffet, Tallinn: A buffet restaurant

by hopang

Restaurant Magic Buffet is located on the 1st floor of Viru Keskus Shopping Center in the heart of Tallinn City just outside the Old Town. Wide range of ready cooked food is available at the restaurant. The food in the restaurant is reasonably cheap compared to those of other restaurnats in Downtown Tallinn. The cost of a meal is between 49.00 EEK and 69.00 EEK not including drinks, sallads or desserts. The restaurant has been patronised by local office personnel, shoppers and budget travellers!

Olde Hansa: Must for tourists...the best medieval spot!

by polinia

Being in Tallinn don't miss Olde Hansa restaurant. It's situated on the Vana-Turu square. It's special place for tourists to make them feel old times but locals also like it. Atmosphere and food of the 15th century are waiting for you. Being in the Old Tallinn you can visit almost any place that looks quite medieval and you will enjoy if not food then surroundings. You can be served national food on the clay dishes and can sit on solid huge wooden benches and watch ancient walls made of big stones and wooden ceilings. It is great experience itself. You can order set of dishes especially if you go by group. The place has various game. You can try elk, hare and even bear meat. But for me the most exotic was onion marmelade....fantastic. The best drink is beer - they offer honey beer, beer with herbs and akvavit with caraway.

Olde Hansa Restaurant

by Dudytka

Olde Hansa is my must-see when I appear in Tallinn. It is a medieval restaurant with truly historic meals. I love to go there, have a dinner and their special herb beer. Check everything out on their web: http://www.oldehansa.org/?lang=en&id=1070&tpl=1002Bon apetit! :)

Olde Hansa: Eat...and reflect on thy sins!

by vonrichthofen

Like a medevil monastery, very dark and brooding. Great if your a Goth, but not for every one.Take a deep breath and ignore the bar, youre in 15th cent. Tallinn. There is a good selection of germanic cuisine, at sensible prices, with booze to follow, order a bottle of Vana Tallinn for good measure or a draught of Saku to complement that weel done char grilled steak. All in all, 3 on 5 for atmosphere, 3 on 5 for food. Like I said, nothing special about the food, but the adventureous would like to try the Bef Tatar. The challenge is to keep it down. If you manage it, I'll buy thee another one!

Meister Michel: Every dish features apples

by Chris_Campbell

Eventually we took lunch at Meister Michel, which was an interesting little place set in some old underground vaulted cellars. The restaurant was an apple themed innovation and everything on the menu featured apples. It had very modern and stylish décor. My partner had the roast beef salad with apple balsamic followed by crepes and I had pork with chestnuts followed by apple cake for dessert.
