Rent your own private Sauna with a swimming pool with only 20€ to 40€ per hour! "Club 26" is located in 26th floor of famous Olumpia Hotel (Liivalaia 33) and it requires no room reservation in the hotel.

Carting

by Jusba

There´s a great carting spot just outside of Tallinn. We resereved it via e-mail beforehand. We got to the place just by asking taxi drivers at the docks do they know the place->got a ride. The best thing about the track was that it was early spring when we drove, and the track is placed outside. So there was a bit of snow and ice on the track ->slick´n´slide!!! (the picture is not from our trip, but the track is the same)Great fun, especially when you didn´t have to be careful with the cars and afterwards there was a sauna waiting us!Here is a link to the place. Be sure to ask the directions from Tallinn.

Not the best track I've seen, but still FUN!
Alternative club -

by harmoni

An open gay club might be considered to be a little "off the path" destination, I think.Club Nightman is just the type of place. Not for just anyone, it is still open for both gay and hetero visitors.Still, be prepared to pay a rather high fee at the door (ca 150 EEK). And the music may always not be what you have expected (many retro events). But is is possible to seek out the more interesting visiting DJ-s, and then there is lots of fun ;)

Nõmme

by TheaIren

Nõmme is a part of Tallinn and tourist are going there really rearly. But I suggest You to go there and find that it's a lovely part of town. There is Nicolai von Glehn's ( 1841 - 1923 )castle and park around it.There are sculpture of giant man - Kalevipoeg ( who was an mysterious estonian hero from epic ). You can find also a column in the park, there is burried von Glehn's horse. Looks like he loved that horse so much. Then look around for ruins of palm house and there is also a stonemade crocodile-my favourite from childhood.

Kadriorg

by Perugia

Kadriorg - beautiful park founded by Russian Tsar Peter the Great. It is a nice place not far from the center near the sea. Fresh air, green grass, ponds with the swans and barocco palace (built by Peter the Great for his wife) make this park attractive for the family rest. There is the museum of foreign art in the palace now.

Lasnamae - a soviet dream stuck onto Tallinn

by davidmmcneil

Lasnamae is a soviet suburb to the East of Tallinn well worth a visit if you enjoy travelling to the neighbourhoods outside the city, to see how the real people of Tallin live and work. If you are impressed, or intrigued by Soviet housing architechture, then travelling to Lasname gives you the opportunity of seeing soviet ideology in all its brutal practicality.Take a taxi to Lasnamae centre, and spend some time at the new shopping mall in order to get a feel for the contrast you are about to experience. You might get a few bargains, but prices seemd similar to the UK.Take a walk alongside the motorway and admire the vista of tower blocks. Visit Gorodok restaurant and see the "hub" of one of these estates. Have a wander around the "market" of shed-style shops, and imagine having to do your shopping here during the Communism era.Taking a trip out here is not going to excite everybody, but...

Soviet style architecture

by DutchTrain

I found Osmäe; a soviet planned neighbourhood; big round pond in the middle and semi-high rise in big circles around it. It is about an hour walk from the city centre (you will pass the zoo and Christiine Shopping mall on your way). The bus takes about 20 minutes (and is more comfortable after walking around the neighbourhood for about an hour)Recommended reading for this: Architecture in Tallinn; an English small book with maps and pictures of 20th century architecture in Tallinn

A Russian town within Estonia

by suvaa003

Because we had the felling we has seen enough of the Talinn we dicied to see some of the country site, we did not wanted to travel that far, and wanted to go bu train so we went on the subday to Palinski. This used to be a Submarine bases form the Russians untill 1995. It is on the sea site west of Tallinn. I think in the summer it is great for a swim in the sea. When we arived, it was if we where back in Russia, the flats where all like the Russian ones even the shops where the same. You can get there by train form Tallinn, it will kost you 16 eek, around 1 euro one way, and it takes 1 hour and a half by train. there are trains going every hour.!!!

Kadriorg Palace

by jckim

This Palace is the Pearl of Estonian baroque architecture. In my experience, I'm not go into the Palace at that time, because at the same time and day, the President of Austria state visit in Kadriorg Palace. I'm just looked around outside Kadriorg Palace and Kadriorg Park.

Tallinn Zoo

by TomTomi

Just outside of town is Tallinn's zoo. It's quite big with plenty of interesting exotic animals. However, the cages are to say the least inhumane. I've never seen worse living conditions in any zoo I've visited. Dreadful. But maybe visiting the place will create more revenue, which in turn will enable some improvements. Let's hope for that.

This bull's life.
