Viru Gates were built in the 14th century, but the towers that now remain are only part of what was originally here.
Viru Gates are in the eastern section of the city wall. The main tower of the gates was originally built in the years 1345-1355.
Today, Viru is one of the main entryways in the Town Wall, leading into the Old Town to Viru Street, a main shopping and dining street of the Old Town.

The Viru Gates are the main entrance to the medieval part of Tallinn, leading to the main shopping and dining street. They have been built between 1345 and 1355, but the towers you can see today are only a part of the city wall that originally stood there.

This 2 towers are the main entrance to the old town, as you come from the ferry. They were built in the 14th century at the eastern section of the city wall.
