Fishing is the main activity for local people. Tondisaar is one of their favourite spots.
They say that perch can be easily catched close to island. There is also a hut and firecamp place in the island.

Perfect place for bird watchers. Birds you may see in the island are common tern ( Sterna hirundo ),
black-headed ( Larus ridibundus ), herring ( Larus argentatus ) gulls and seamew ( Larus canus ).
Also mallards ( Anas platyrhynchos ), shovelers ( Anas clypeata ), goosanders ( Mergus merganser ), garganey's ( Anas querquedula) and great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus).
Tondisaar is the only inland place where cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) are nesting.
