Favorite Dish: We stopped only shortly in there so I had time to grab a beer. Estonian Saku beer is very good !

In old days Haanja's man used to ski with only one cane, with other hand they hold cord what was tied with skinose ! Drawing the cord helped them stop easely. Climbing to hill one cane helped a lot and skis draged behind tied with cord :D

The Haanja Marathon takes place annually and is one of Estonia's biggest cross-country skiing events. Hundreds of daring skiers enter the marathon and choose a distance of either 20 or 40km. Then they disappear somewhere in the woods near Haanja and come back exhausted hours later... It's a great event in the area and often, even some foreigners participate.
Equipment: skis are recommended... and of course a lot of power because cross-country skiing indeed is a little exhausting
