Each year on a Wednesday in March, there is a big cattle-market in the village of Krivogaštani. Farmers from all over Pelagonia come here to sell or buy cattle or other things used for farming. I have never seen the village as full of people as on this day.
When you are travelling in the region between Prilep and Kruševo, it is worth to make a detour to the little village of Krušeani and taste its delicious natrural sparkling mineral water. It is not bottled and sold, but simply pearls out of the village fountain at the center of the village. The fountain used to be a manual draw well, but an electric pump has been added recently. This is more convenient - but to save electric energy, the fountain only operates two hours each in the morning, at noon and in the evening. If the fountain is not working when you pass by, just ask at the store behind the fountain.
The natural sparking mineal water is not the only spring at Krušeani, just 20 meters north of it, there is also a sulphur spring. Its water smells like wrotten eggs, but it is much appreciated by the locals for curing a variety of ailments.
Don't forget to bring some empty bottles!
