During our 4 days in Ohrid the light over Lake Ohrid and the old town was always fascinating at around dusk, when the sky was darkening and turning into red colours.
A walk along the promenade Kej Marshal Tito towards the old town and the harbour at this time of the day offered many photo opportunities of brilliant light plays in the sky and mirrored in the lake.
Ohrid is well known for Ohrid's pearls. You can buy them in numerous shops, stalls...almost everywhere. The scales of the fish "plasica" (red spot trout) are used for production of the artificial "Ohrid pearls".
Favorite thing: Wherever you go around Lake Ohrid, keep your eyes open and your camera ready. You never know when there is a great view just around the corner. Also the feel of the views change with the weather and the time of day, so just stay alert to any good picture opportunity.
This coobled stone boulevard is the main street into the old town because there is another huge boulevard perpendicular to this where the coming bus from Skopje runs
All sort of things you can see here or buy it and some internet shops are installed... the southernmost end is the harbour and the lake and the other end is fullfill by the turkish quarter and the market
Located as i said on my accomodation tip on the easternmost end from the town is a tiny and small hermitage over the lake ...such a great view from beneath it ...woth the while to spend some hours to get this holly place for all balacanic people
St Jovan at Kaneo is well signed on the winding streets into the town (well more or less)..its a church dated from XIII century
onr of the most beautiful sights is the harbour. A short promenade and a huge square in the downtown are in front of this small harbour where lots of people use to fish in the afternoons.
Besides its just in the front of the very busy street full of terraces and shops
Very popular vegetable in Macedonia is undoubtedly is pepper - red pepper, green pepper, mild pepper, hot pepper, fresh pepper, dried pepper...
They make delicious dishes with pepper.
Favorite thing: Looking at the lake from above. I have many views of the lake from various locations, but this morning view from our room this July was stunning. The lake *sparkled*
Favorite thing: Watching the lake and the small boats. Ohrid Lake is a photographers dream -- everything from vistas to details to charm your camera:)
The cleanest lake that I have ever seen in the World !
Fondest memory: The old town area in Ohrid is endless treasury.
