This stately building on top of the hill can be seen from many places in Ohrid. It is located to the right of Tsar Samoil's fortress and next to the church of Sveti Bogorodica Perivleptos.
In the past we were told that it had some kind of administrative function.
When we visited in 2012 after a renovation, it was written above the entrance that it is a building of the Orthodox Church of Ohrid.
the view from the top of the mountain range of Galichica is stunning. You are able to see two lakes (ohrid lake and prespa lake ). There is the national park galichica located.

Having in mind that the backround of the lake is hilly, there are a quite lot of spots from where you can admire a beautiful views of the town and lake. One of them is certrnly the Samuil`s Fortress. Even on the way up to it, you can stop from time to time and enjoy the views. i was not fortunate with weather, it was foggy and light snow was falling but stil I had a nice walk.
The old town is a little maze of alley streets ..hidden nooks running down from the gorgeous fortress that rule the town over the lake
Wandering around is the best advise i could give .. the most "trendy" part of the city doesnt worth the time because has nothing, just the harbour the fortress, this old town joining the turkish quarter
One of the most beautiful moments there was at dusk when i get off from my tour guide's pad and i came back to the guesthouse.. i spent some time wandering by the streets where just few people passed me ... the chatedral looked so beautiful lighted up by some floodlights.. the old town is extremelly amazing and stunning.. some streets run down to the same lake where the street ends
I'm not exactly sure where Niki took this from, but it is an excellent view of the center of town. The big long white building in the mifddle is the Palace Hotel, currently undergoing long needed renovations!
OK , take a boat even if the temperature is under 30C .

This picture is taken from a boat on my way to
I'm not against walking at all :)
But if the temperature is over 30C than is much better to take a boat....
As Ohrid is located on the hill I'll call this place VIEW POINT over the whole lake and
the mountains around .
if you climb up the ohrid fort you'll get an unforgettable view of the city and the lake. be careful if it's raining - the stairs of the fort are really slippery
