When you arrive Ohrid autogar too many people call you , "sobe, zimmer, room"
Do not intrest them. Because autogar is so far from Ohrid centrum. But their rooms are closer to autogar. Take a taxi (it costs you between 45 and 70 MD ) and go centrum.
You will see all the same things. Generally old people call you. Their prices start from 6 euro person/night to 20 euro. But private rooms are not private :) otherwise their rooms are closer to lake.
Unique Suggestions: You can follow one of them at least as a joy. Therefore you can find a chance to see another kind of accomadation in city.
Fun Alternatives: Else... There is a fellow woman who helps find a room. She has many kind of rooms.

Even though I bought a return ticket from Skopje to Ohrid I had to confirm the reservation on the way back.
You can make a confirmation not only at the bus station but also at kiosk where once old bus station was. Without the reservation you cannot take the bus to Skopje.
Watch out while ordering and pay close attention to the menu. Ohrid trout is sold whole or by weight in restaurants. The price posted to lure you into the restaurant is seldom what you pay for the whole fish. That said, Ohrid trout is excellent and clean tasting. If you like fish give it a try if you feel like splurging on a meal.
All of the major attractions in the Ohrid area, require an entrance fee. Usually 50 denar for Macedonians and 100 denar for foreigners. I mention this so that you will know in advance. Personally, I do not mind paying this since I understand that maintaining, preserving and restoring these wonderful historical and religious sites is quite expensive and time consuming.
When I was walking back to my apartment in the eatly hours of the morning I noticed a young lad and his girlfriend charging 10 Denars for look through his telescope. I got an amazing look and photo of the moon.. 10 denars well spent
Unique Suggestions: Look at the Mooooooon
Fun Alternatives: Don't use the telescope.
Never choose these hotels. They are away from the city center, do not have ***** luxary and very expensive (around 100 € a night).
Fun Alternatives: Rent an apartment in the city center. It is cheaper (around 15 € per person a night) and you will be close the best nightlife ....
The prices you see on the menu for the famed [and delicious] Ohrid trout are for a certain number of grammes -- usually 250. The whole fish costs a lot more and feeds 2-3 depending on the size and appetite. Be sure to try this delicacy, but understand the pricing before you order.
This is not an intentional "trap" -- it's just the way the fish is sold. The problem is that many travelers aren't used to that system.
