Apparently, the local fishermen use birds (cormorants) to drive the fish into fenced in areas around the fishing huts in the water. When we visited, it was the wrong time of year, so I have yet to see it ... but will find out, go see it ....and update this tip ASAP.more
There is something special about Lake Dojran. Somehow after walking around on a shore full of shells, and smelling the salty air, I felt like I had been at the beach ! We looked for a taxi to drive us from Old Dojran to New Dojran and we found Taxi Valentino at the bus station in New Dojran.
Apparently he is the only legal taxi in Dorjan.
In the end we did not use his service, but we got his card and number.
