Earthquake Memorial Statue, Skopje
Opposite to the City Museum of Skopje is a statue to commemorate the devastating earthquake of July 26 1963, that killed over 1000 people and made more than 100,000 people homeless.
The statue in the picture stands opposite the Old Railway Station (see seperate tip) and commemorates the fortieth anniversary of the terrible earthquake which struck on 26/07/2003 devestating the city and killing over 1000 people.
I realise that the statue commemorates a terrible event but, even so, I found it rather grotesque.
Go and have a look and make up your own mind.
