One of Skopje's most eye-catching buildings is St. Kliment Ohridski Church, located on the busy Boulevard Partizanski Odredi, near Macedonia Square. Although construction of this building began only in the 1970s, its swooping arches and high domes have already come to be a symbol of the city. As a sign of interfaith cooperation the local Muslim community donated the fountain that sits in the church's courtyard.

This is the orthodox cathedral "Sveti Kliment Ohridski" (St Clement of Ohrid). It is the main church of Skopje. The cathedral is a modern 20th century building. I've heard thet interior is impressive, but I wasn't able to enter to see myself. There is also a big clock tower near it.

The chathedral can be found at the corner of Partizanski and Ohridski, it is a modern 20th century building, which can quite easily be mistaken for a mosque.

Skopje is pretty evenly divided between the Muslim north of the city and the Orthodox south, which is where you will find this massive church dedicated to Saint Kliment Ohridski. It was a bit difficult to find, owing to the fact that the massive post office building blocks the view of the river, but once you see the domes its easily to follow them to the church. There is a large tower (perhaps to balance out saat kula) and the entrance has a beautiful icon. Once inside the church you are confronted with spectacular paintings and icons, particularly on the walls opposite the altar. Pictures can be taken, although the interior is rather dark. Don't forget to take pictures of the ceiling as well!

Really interesting church..it worth to visit and behold the beauties inside...the huge spider lamp just in the middle is of the best points to pay attention ....a little square outside allow to watch it shape and beautifull construction

This is the "seat" of the patriarch of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. It is a modern building that maintains the traditional orthodox church design. This is a picture of part of one side with the neighboring apartment buildings.

Main church for all christians in Skopje with great frescoes and icons. Great place to get your spiritual peace.

The deorations in the modern "cathedral" in Skopje aren't as wonderful as those at Sv. Spas or Sv Jovan Bigorski, but they are consistent with the modern building.
