You will find plenty of columns and archeological bits and pieces at Stobi. This column has an Ionic capital. You will also see Doric and Corinthian. The Romans liked them all!!

You can see some of the conservation practices on my Ohrid and Heraclea pages. Here sand is placed over part of the mosaics as protection. I assume they rotate which sections are exposed.

I'm assuming these were for grain or for oil or ... there wasn't any information available that I could see. I would also assume that these are reproductions.

I *thought* I would remember what everything was -- anyway this is another Roman ruin at Stobi. From the looks I'd say it was a basilica.

These are the stairs you use to reach your seat in the amphitheatre -- I'd watch my step if I were you:) The amphitheatre at Stobi has not been renovated the way they have been at Ohrid and Heraclea.

Every Roman amphitheatre in Macedonia that can be used for performances is I think -- from Bitola, to Heraclea, to Ohrid to ... Stobi.

The baptistry forms a circle around what was the large baptismal font. The floor is covered with many animal and floral motifs as you can see in this photo.
