If you don't have access to a car, there is a bus service to Kunoy village from Klaksvik.
In summer 2005 this was the number 504 and it ran 4 times daily - obviously this is subject to change so check when you get to Klaksvik.
It's perhaps a 10 or 15 minute journey from Klaksvik.
Favorite thing: Kunoy is well worth a trip from Klaksvik, it's only a 10 or 15 minute drive, but is a world away. Before the tunnel was built the village was suffering from severe depopulation. The tunnel has slowed this, some people now commute to Klaksvik.
The village is like many other Faroese villages, fairly small, with a church and several colourful buildings clinging to the hillside.
The journey itself is certainly worthy of note, going over a dam in the sound from Bordoy, then going through a single lane unlit tunnel.
Fondest memory: The sheer steepness of the mountain coming right out of the ocean. One of the most unlikely places to live, or so you would think.Related to:
