As sorry as you might feel NOT to experience the true midnight sun, there is a definite advantage to this fact as well: you get to take some real nice pictures of the sunset instead!
Doesn't that look wonderful?

The Faroe islands lie just south of the Arctic Circle. For that reason they do not really have a "true" midnight sun. Nevertheless between May 21 and July 21 it does not really get totally dark at night, which is quite a nice feeling!!

Club hopping can be quite fun in the Faroes. Tip for American drinkers: don't expect to get the mixed cocktails you get in America. I tried to give them the recipes and they didn't come out right. Ask for their recommendations. The Faroese love to drink Aalborg Akvavit, which you can get in the states, but they also drink Faroese beer which you cannot. Try some! (By the way, my cousin designed the logo for Føroyar Bjør!) Also, something fun. Especially in the summer when the sun doesn't fully go down, the party can often spill into the streets after the clubs close. And they will continue socializing there for a good couple of hours more!
