As a German - and thus as a member of a soccer crazy nation - I remember very well the match between the German national team and the national team of Faroe a few years back....
The Germans were pretty bad and the Faroese were fighting like hell - and in the interview afterwards (and if I remember correctly also beforehand) the German National Coach always said, that the Faroese team were "a team to be taken absolutely seriously..." ("ein ernstzunehmender Gegner").
Now, I do not want to say anything bad about the Faroese team - in the contrary: there is this country with 25000 people that manages to form a soccer team that is a true threat to teams like Germany (with some 80 million people) or Scotland with a highly reputated soccer tradition...... It really amazed me and now I am a true fan of the Faroese national team!!! Leave a Comment Theme: Sports Watching
