Kirkubour

by jonkb

Kirkubour is one of the places that has the most historical air about it. You can, if the weather is good, hike from this place to Torshavn . The tour is very nice. The website I've found belongs to a private person.I've written more about this place on my Tórshavn page (under of the beaten path)

Fossá - The largest waterfall in the Faroe Islands thunders down 140m in several stages. It can be seen from the roadside approximately half way between Langasandur and Haldarsvík on the island of Streymoy.

Vestmana Bird Cliffs

by Irato

It’s one of the main tourist attractions here, the beautiful cliffs, nesting area for thousands of seabirds. I’ve seen here the puffins first time in my life. To have great views take a boat tour from Vestmana.

Torshavn

by Irato

The capitol and main harbor of Faroe Islands. The name Torshavn means “A harbor of Thor”, but nothing remains of the god of thunders here. It’s a lovely city with the colorful houses, pleasant harbor, Vidarlund park (!)…great place for slowly walks.

Well..you have to take some hiking-shoes and go hiking. there´s a lot of weird things to see. or beautiful perhaps...matter of taste...it´s just beautiful...just walk..if you decide to hike on one of the mountain it´s very likely the water in the rivers you´ll find all over, is drinkable. yep..

There is a castle near the port of Torshavn. Also the landscape is unique. The trip from the Airport Vagar to Torshavn takes about 2 hours. It is not a big distance, but you can't drive fast and also the airport is located on an other Island so you have to take a ferry. The whole trip is like a sightseeing tour and on the ferry you can make a lot of photos.

Faroe Island Fjords

by glenn57

Here is another typical fjord of the Faroes. This one is only a few kilometres from the capital, Torshavn. You pass by this one if you take an excursion from Torshavn to see the Bird Cliffs.
