A big souvenir shop in Torshavn is 'Andreas i Vagsbotn'. It is near the harbour of Torshavn and offers a lot of local craftwork and all other typical Faroese souvenirs. So you will find puffin-stuff, Faroese flags, clothes, cards and much more... We did not find the people of the shop too friendly, when we did not buy much... hahaha..... But I am sure every tourist to the Faroe Islands will love the people, who are usually extremely friendly!

The main shopping street in Tórshavn is Niels Finsens Gøta (incidently named after Faroese Doctor Niels R Finsen, who won the nobel prize in 1903)
There are a number of touristy shops along here, as well as the Tourist Information Centre. There's also an excellent bookshop, selling books in English, Faroese and Danish.

The rather dreary looking SMS Shopping Centre (or SOS Shopping Centre as it's occasionally known) contains Tórshavn's largest supermarket Miklagarður, a few fast food outlets and a few other interesting stores.

This was an ineresting experience, I was surprised by the number of shops the centre contained. It was enjoyable to do the normal saturday thing - going shopping and see what was happening down town. There was a buzz and it was a great atmosphere - seels everything from books to clothes to plants to medicines.
