Vääksy is a small place so there aren't so many special things to do. This place, however, is a great place to drive through and maybe stop for a few hours. Or a good place to relax, admire the nature and views.
Places to see:
*the channel of Vääksy. Boats and small ships drive through the channel when coming or going f. ex. to/from Lahti. Watch the boats to descend and rise with the water in the channel.
*the "beach" and the shores of the Päijänne-lake.

You can reach Asikkala and Vääksy by bus or car, there is no train connection (the nearest train station is in Lahti, from there it takes 30 minutes by car or bus to Vääksy).
Buses come for example from Helsinki (2h 15minutes), Lahti (30 minutes), and Jyväskylä. Buses from Helsinki and Lahti usually pass hotel Tallukka.
Moving around Vääksy is the easiest by walking, bike or car. There are also local buses (from Vääksy bus station until the city of Lahti) but they operate very seldom.

Swimming is one of the sports activities you can do in Vääksy. The water in the lake is usually quite chilly or cold but it's also quite clean and fresh. There are actually two beaches in Vääksy. The bigger in near the bus station, the smaller is in a living area, further from the centre of Vääksy.
There is also a sports field in Vääksy, near the Vääksy's schools, with simple equipment.
