The Vanha is a nice and very lively spot in the centre of Helsinki.
Usually a lot of students and young people hang around here at the weekend.
The bar is well equipped, the beer cold, and sometimes there are bands playing live; good reasons to give the Vanha a try.
I found it a bit annoying that you have to leave your jacket at the door which will cost you 1,50 EUR -not too student-friendly.
Dress Code: Very informal; do NOT wear your tie here.
Very relaxed ambiente
a lot of beer and whisky brands to choose from
very good service with excellent knowledge expertise on their products!
One of the few bars you may smoke in - in Helsinki
Dress Code: depends on your own style. I don't think they have any restrictions, for a lot of bohemian-like people frequent this joint.
This place was an amazing nightclub which i experienced in finland. the main reason is you can interact with the local younger generation and get to know more about the culture. they are equally interested in knowing mine. most of them were familiar coz they have visited india.
good crowd good music and good beer
Myself and a couple of friends travelled to Helsinki to DJ at this opening night. I had been to Finland (Tampere) once before but not experienced the nightlife- the first trip you could say was a retreat, this time a party!
This was an excellent night with a great bunch of promotors who made this a nice getaway from the small and sweaty clubs of Bristol!
We also went out the following night to a fantastic 3 floor place in the town. O forget the name but apparently it was closing down soon after we left. Shame.
Not sure if Vanha is a good venue regularly, I imagine it depends on the night you are going to because it would certainly have to be well-promoted and full.
Popular venue for live bands. As well as the main hall, where the gigs are, there are also 2 other bars to sit and chat. Prices are not cheap and there is often an admission charge. Vanha however, is a popular place amongst Finns, especially the more classier ones.
This is Vanha Ylioppilastalo. A building with one big stage and two beer cafe's. Live music, bands, dj's and more. Check out the schedule!
