    Linnanmaki park

Not the biggest amusement park I’ve seen, but anyway really nice. Not too crowded, despite that the weather was fantastic that day, and the entrance was free. You pay just when you want to do something inside. But you can walk around without paying anything.
I really enjoyed the Linnanmaki park, I have to say!

It is free entrance, but single tickets are expensive. So if you plan to go on gadgets, buy a wristband that allowes you to ride the whole day (price depends on your height). Usually long queues so be prepared to have a long day. And bring your own lunch with you unless you want to queue some more for a burger.

From late April to mid September, you can entertain yourself or the children at Linnanmäki which I have actually not done myself but why leave it out. As you can see from the picture, it has a setting in a green area and up on a hill so the city view from the ferris wheel is supposedly very nice. The park has everything from white knuckle rides to the more calmer alternatives and lots of arcades and other fun which you associate with amusement parks.

    Amusement park

I have some very happy memories from the Linnanmaki Amusement Park. I still like a ride in the old wooden roller coaster the best. To me it's also important that the owner is a charitable foundation. They have a new giant wheel and it's very good for watching the scenery.

The park is situated upon a hill. There you can find an unique 100 year old roller coaster ride (Vuoristorata in Finnish). It's made of wood.

Admission to the amusement park is FREE so you really have to check it out!!

If you are considering going to the rides, it's wise to buy a wristband because that way your rides are going to be much cheaper.

There's also couple of restaurants and kiosks in the area but they are quite expensive.

Try the hot woffle with cream and strawberry jam! Yummy!

This is a very popular park to go with loads of activities for small and big kids.
Sadly enough i am not to keen on them because i get ill quickly :(
But my friends little boy enjoyed every minute! A big grin was covering his face all the time except when we had to tear him away from the attraction lol. Poor thing, i guess it will only get worse in the future.

The entrance is free but you have to pay for the individual attractions. The attractions are divided by age (size) and you buy a ticket for several of them.

    Lintsi generations

Go to Linnanmäki, Helsinki's amusement park. It's a cute park with many attractions and a nice atmosphere! It's a mixture of old fashioned stuff with really modern stuff - great! The park celebrated its 50th birthday in 2000.

Don't miss going into the funny house "Vekkula". Normally a children thing but really amusing for everyone!

Entrance to the park is free. You can buy a wristband to go on all the rides, there are different prices, for adults, kids, for a day, just for an evening etc. A single ride is 4.50 € which is rather expensive I think! If you are into the rides you better get a wristband!

    Linnanmki Park

Linnanmäki Theme Park in Helsinki, now I thought.. this was going to be interesting and it was.... just for half the day. Well, thats all the time you need to cover this theme park.

There are a total of 3 theme parks in the entire Finland and this is one of them. The other 2 are, Alandsparken and Santapark.

Linnanmäki recorded more than a million visitors for the fifth summer in succession, the total figure for the summer 2003 season being 1,104,578. All in all more than 46 million people have visited Linnanmäki since 1950.

Linnanmäki Amusement Park was founded in 1950 by six Finnish child welfare organisations and each year the Amusement Park adds something new or makes improvements to spin, shake and toss its fun-loving visitors.

My honest opinion? Yes, I did have some fun there eventhough it was a little chilly on the day we went there. And no, I did not throw up on any of the rides heheh. Ever in Finland and want some theme park action, make a trip here. Great for family fun too.

For more info on this park, you can visit the official website in the link given:

The Linnanmäki Amusement parc is one of the greatest in the world. To my knowledge they have the oldest wooden vuoristorata of the world. The prices are quite okay for the quality you get. A ranneke, a one- time- fee with which you can use all devices costs about 20,00 €.
The space shot is the best device! :-)

    Linnanmaki

Linnanmaki has entertained people since 1950. The amusement park is the single most popular tourist spot in Finland. There are lot of fun rides in Linnanmaki but wooden rollercoaster is the most popular one. Rollercoaster has been in Linnanmaki since the amusement park was established in 1950. I thing that the best rides are "Space shot", "Kieppi" and "Top spin". Linnanmaki has also many arcade halls as well as an outdoor stage presenting entertaining performances.

Don`t be in rush. It takes several hours to ride in every ride. Wristband costs 22 euros (height over 120 cm) and 14 euros (height less than 120 cm).

Paul Anka, the mermaids, the roller coaster made of wood...This is Linnanmäki, our amusement park in the heart of the city.
Paul Anka created hysteria when he visited the park in the early 1950s. The amusement park is located on a hill side, and it's a great place to go to. Very safe. This year, 2003, there's no entrance fee at all, so you can just go and take an evening stroll and have a beer or two in the restaurant...or have a ride in our roller coaster. Its structures are wooden. adn the noise it makes adds to the charm of it.

Linnanmäki is the biggest amusement park in Helsinki. It has the basic things for kids such as the merry-go-round, and also rollercoaster rides for adults. Every year they buy new attractions, so it's worth visiting. Now there's also a Sealife park attached to Linnanmäki, but you have to pay extra to get in.

The Linnanmäki amusement park is an evergreen favourite with children and adults alike. The fun begins there at the end of April and continues in full swing until the beginning of September. When Linnanmäki opens its gates, everyone in Helsinki knows that summer has arrived.

Linnanmäki, the amusement park. Open May-September. You can buy either individual tickets (it costs 1-3 ticket depenging on the ride you are taking) or this one ticket that allows you use all the rides. If you are going to try most of the rides it gets very expensive by individual tickets. If travelling with kids notice that the limit to some rides is 120 cm for safety reasons.
Try the 50 years old wooden roller coaster! It's propably nothing when comparing with other roller coasters let's say in Disneyland but since it's so old and made of wood it gives some extra thrill. It's anyway very safe.
