Kotka center

If your accommodation is for example in karhula (about 10km from kotka's center), and you're spending the night out in kotka center; prepare to take the taxi after 2am or so because it can be hard to find bus/train. Good to know if you're tight on budget!

Fishing at river Kymi

3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

linda1501 22 reviews

The Kymi River is southern Finland´s best salmon-river and it is possible to fish in its three free Kotka-branch rapids all through the year.

In Langinkoski you can fly-fish in a natural habitat and enjoy the historical surroundings.
Siikakoski is ideal for fly- and troll-fishing
At Korkeakoski´s casting quay you can be more certain of a catch where, during the high season, salmon weighing up to 10 kilos can be caught.

The fishing management fee is obligatory using any tackle other than simple rod or ice fishing equipment to fish natural waters, prices are 15 EUR for whole year or 5 EUR for a seven day period of fishing. Payment of the lure fishing fee entitles you to fish with lures in waters of lure. The lure fishing charge is 27 EUR or 6 EUR for a fishing period of seven days, obtainable at all post office.

Favorite thing: Relax and visit the Sapokka water park. It´s the most rewarded city park in Finland with the beautiful lightnings, impressive plantations and imaginative use of sea water.
