The pesäpallo (the American version of the game is called baseball :-))... except that pesäpallo is very far from it and, in my opinion, much more fascinating) season began in May and will go on until September. The team of Kouvola, KPL (Kouvolan Pallonlyöjät) is playing in the top league this year, can't wait to see how it goes for them. :) I go see every game I possibly can (there's also someone special playing so it's much more exciting!).

This is the pesäpallo field. This summer I've spent 16 evenings here watching the games and I could easily have spent at least twice as much. :)

KooKoo is the ice-hockey team of Kouvola and they play in the 1st division which is called "Mestis". They came third in the division this Spring, so they are not that bad! :)

I spent a little time in this town between train and bus connections. This is the city center to which you can walk straight up from the railway/busstation. There is this pedestrian shopping street......

If you go to Kouvola, the only really really "must" is to visit the great Spanish restaurant Olé. It is the best steak restaurant I've ever been to. The food is superb, especially the Pork Catalonia...
