A new cafe gelateria in the Trio Shopping centre offers delicious Italian ice-cream (gelato) that they make on the premices. They have over 20 different flavours which vary daily. I tried cookie ice cream, which was so good! One (big) scoop cost 2,70 EUR. There was also smoothies and, of course, coffee and sandwiches available, but I only tried the ice cream.
The location in the shopping centre isn' t the best possible, if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy your coffee/ice cream, but for a lovely and well-earned break in between shopping it's unbeatable. I go to Lahti quite frequently for shopping and this will definitely become one of my favourite cafes in town! :)

Coffee House belongs to a chain of cafes all over Finland. It's our favorite in our hometown and so we decided to try it in Lahti as well. The location is very good, right on the main shopping street Aleksanterinkatu, but from the outside it looks a bit shady, but it's only because you can't see inside through the darkened windows...
Once we stepped in, it looked really nice! The ambience was informal and welcoming. There's a counter where you choose everything you want and help yourself and then you pay by the till. Just like in any other Coffee House, the concept is the same! There was only a few people there besides us, so it was very quiet and peaceful. Very nice place to meet firends and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea.
There's also a restaurant in the premises, but we didn't try that.
Favorite Dish: I had a tasty ham and cheese baguette (~5 EUR) and a big cup of green tea (2, 30 EUR).

Favorite Dish: Must be the basic one (I write the same thing on all my restaurant tips, lol!) - fried chicken in sweet&sour sauce, vegetables and yasmin rice. Love it! I promise to try something different next time I go. ;)
