When you pass the cathedral, and continue to climb up, you reach a residential area with colorful wooden houses that is an absolute must see. Also you get some great views of Porvoo.

The cathedral dates back from the end of the 15th century, and it's dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The interior is quite simple and modest, but very beautiful.

Porvoo wouldn't be complete without the river. There is a big restaurant ship at anchor. The river is also popular with the locals for boating.

On a sunny day it is very pleasant to walk around old town. Sit in a café, watch the people and look at the shops.

The old town hall from 1764 features a museum inside. The square in front of it, is also worth a wander around as in summer there are some stalls selling various things.

This mostly open air museum is on the edge of Porvoo. They have also a second hand shop on the grounds and sell drinks and ice cream in summer.

This unique Gotic church dating back to 1418 is the landmark of Porvoo. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged in 2006, so I don't know what it looks like today.
