Fondest memory: In the late afternoon I started to stroll down Hämeenpuisto and just generally walking around the area. Walking past Hämeenpuisto to the Pyynikin Kirkkopuisto, which is part garden, part cemetery. In front of the church there, there is a nice fountain and flower bed.
After that I headed towards Eteläpuisto. A beautiful garden with sculptures, green hills, tall thin trees and excellent view of the lake Pyhäjärvi. There were paths to walk around the lake, but I only went a little way along them. I passed an area where people were playing mini golf and could hear sounds of music in the distance (although I am not sure what this was from). Along the shore of the lake were many colourful little boats. It was a very relaxing place to walk around on a warm summer evening.

Fondest memory: I spent the majority of my day in Tampere just wandering the streets. I was a little nervous about the fact that I only knew about 3 words in Suomi, but I still went out walking. Up and down the main street Hameenkatu, looking in at the shops and businesses along the busy road (It was a Saturday, so a lot of the places were closed).
Then it was time for some lunch. My first Finnish meal... uh, actually it was McDonalds :) Which I bought and then took and sat in the gardens near the Tammerkoski rapids in the city centre. I was surrounded by beautiful green grass, vibrant red flowers, the rapids, factory chimney stacks... it was very picturesque.

Favorite thing: Tampere is located 200 km north of Helsinki.
It is the 3rd biggest city in Finland and it is definitely worth visit there, as it is different in many ways from Helsinki.
Check out my tips and I’m willing to answer any questions if you have.

Favorite thing: Nature, architecture, industries, cultural life and knowledge
.............................
Nature around Tampere is very unique as the city itself is surrounded with lakes and forest and makes this industrialized-looking city fresher and more appealing for tourists.
..........................
The gateway to the Lake District of central Finland is located on a narrow forested isthmus between the lakes Pyhäjärvi and Näsijärvi.
..........................
In addition, some two hundred lakes are located within the city limits.
