My favorite restaurant in Tampere!
Waitresses are dressed in Viking style, glasses weigh a lot, plates are far from ordinary... names for the portions are funny :) Here you can eat even pheasant, wild boar, duck, reindeer etc. for reasonable prices. They also have portions which include several kinds of meat and this is a served in a sword! :) Look at the photo, there's a swordful of meat -it's served for two persons.
Favorite Dish: Pheasant is good...as well as wild boar... well everything I've tried has been good ;) Potato casserole with goat cheese is delicious. I recommed having a luxurious plate of desserts, then you can have a taste of almost everything, I'll never miss it ;) They have delicious ice creams, the ones flavoured with tar is my favorite.
My fiance has been working there as a cook, so I have a few photos of the portions. Look for more in my travelogue!

Atmosphere. The restaurant is categorized as a viking restaurant. Since most of you know (you should know), we didn't have vikings in Finland. If you are interested in vikings, go to Sweden, Norway or Danmark. However, this restaurant is nice and not at all that expensive. I visited there last time in June, 2002 and the menu had changed way better than ever before. At least, the beef steak with two sauces and goat cheese potatoes was splendid. At the cheese plate with port wine.

Big and strong enough tables to dance on. Not that I've tried... Maybe next time. Have your drinks waited by ladies in viking style dresses, and served in clay cups!
Favorite Dish: Viking style restaurant and menu. Lotsa fish and steaks.
