Places to eat in Tampere

There was a review-extra at local newspaper year ago,about breakfast-places in Tampere.They tried every breakfast-place,and for best value/quality/price combination was Nostalgia.They have quite cheap breakfast,but you still can choose enough,to not feel hungry after.
It´s a bakery-shop,so you can buy something good to go also.
If you stay at Omena-hotel,this might be good choise for breakfast-if you don´t mind walkin ten minutes before breakfast.
Added at August 2009:There was new reviews of breakfasts at Tampere and this wasn´t at the top of list anymore.But they still have breakfast,only little less to choose.

Favorite Dish: I eat my breakfast at home,but it looks good,what they have.And I´ve bought some just baked bread there sometimes.

This is, as the name indicates, a vegetarian restaurant that serves a smallish menu including soups, salads, tapas and mains with seitan, tofu and more, all suited for vegans. Portions are not that large, though. There are organic wines and even organic rum. Lunch is served from 11 until 15.

This restaurant which is located just a short walk from the central square serves nuevo latin- influenced food. The menu offers a welcome change from most other restaurants in town. They also serve tapas and in the summer a lighter terrace menu which is served at the outside terrace just in front of the restaurant. The terrace is an attractive place to have a afternoon mojito (the best in town), too bad it doesn't get that much sun, though. There is also a bar with cigars and a a good selection of beers and rums. The wine list is dominated by wines from the spanish-speaking world. On friday nights you can also dance salsa here.

This is texmex,not Mexican,but there was not that to choose.We were first afraid of going here,because the restaurant is at same chain as Coyote,witch we have nothing good to say about.But when we finally went her,it was a pleasent surprice.We ate everything from starters to desserd,because it was my husbands birthday,There was so many good sounding portions,that it was actually quite hard to choose!
My friend had been here two years ago,and said that food wasn´t warm enough and staff not friendly.Now it was just the opposite(I´ve heard they have new staff)-waither was VERY friendly,allmost odd for calm Finnish people,and food was hot-I burned my tongue.We will certainly go here again.But it´s not a diet-place!We didn´t eat anything that day,and it was good-even so,we were so full when we left!Even when mud-cake looked quite small,it was so sweet,that it was enough-I gave my ice-cream(came with the cake) to my husband.

Favorite Dish: I have only eaten here once,but that steak with jalopenos and cheddar-cheese and cheese-potatos was yammy,and so was my husbands chicken with chili and paremesan.We also took cros-cut potatos(we love the-even if they are quite simple) and mozzrella-sticks.Both had salad with them.And we both had mud-cake as a dessert.Everything was really good!

This is quite popular place.We finally decided to try,but since we go so rarely for pizza(I´m allways too much thinking how unhealthy it is..),I believe we will go to Napoli again next time.There was nothing wrong with this place(allthough the weither,who wasn´t born Finnish,talked so quiet and little odd Finnish,that we hardly ever knew what he said..Maybe he´s better in English),and pizzas were o.k,but Napoli is just better.
One thing they had better:They had deliciuos garlic-bread.
They didn´t have any dark beer,so we took coke instead,the blond beers were boring also.We usually drink watter,but because we were on holliday,we thought to have beers.But it´s not big deal-only suprizing.I don´t know why some people lov this place so much.But people have different tastes.

Favorite Dish: Some kind of chicken-pizza-allthought it should have had more cheese.And garlic we asked,didn´t taste any.

I hate Japanise,but I must tell this here,because it´s biggest Japanise restaurant in Finland.Many people have said that this is very good.
They also have had-I´m not sure is it still"on menu"a dinner from"living table",witch has been popular in hen-partys.I would never eat from someones skin(or maybe my husbands..),I think it´s discusting,but if you don´t agree,ask about it.

This looks really nice-I allmost hope,that I´d like Japanise food..

Favorite Dish: As you could guess,I haven´t eaten here.They also have"tea-room",and if I would go here,I would go because of that,I love tea.
Price is a guess,I don´t know the prices.

This is very popular salad-bar.They have many kinds of salads,and they are really fresh and tasty.Many women take their lunch from there,so it might be busy at lunch-time.
They also have wines.Chairs and tables outside at summer.

One of the many fast foods around the centre of the city. Nothing real special about this place, or actually it is special, because usually the people go in Finland to hamburger places or pizza, and tacos are rather new things here.

*This place has now re open at the railway station.

Favorite Dish: I took the chicken salad, much suitable for me as a lunch break when needed to return for the office.
