Places to eat in Tampere

I don´t know should I say this local or whta.This is "fine dining"-place,with cooks of good reputation.This also might be a place for romantic dinner-if you don´t happen to go same time as 10 people of work-mates after work on Friday,like we once did-this is so small place,that you´ll hear a noise.
It is very popular,so I suggest to call first-at least if it´s weekend.
maybe the staff could be little more friendlier.

Favorite Dish: Hot chilli-steak.They change menus 4 times a year,so can´t be sure that this steak is still on menu.

It started as a Russian restaurant,but it´s not so Russian if you ask me.It has been voted best restaurant many times.Food is very good and service friendly.It´s worth of visiting,even it´s not in the centre.It maybe1,5km from railwaystation to the east.Maybe first walk by Itsenäisyydenkatu,till Salhojankatu from right and then turn left when you see Nyyrikinkatu.
Coussica doesn´t maybe look so nice outside,it has beer-tapes on windows,but don´t care about it.

Favorite Dish: Everything has been good,and little cahanges to list every while and then.I know that many people come here to celebrate their birthday or so on.It´s not so big.in the end of the week you should maybe book a table.

We chose Amarillo, because we got a gift voucher there. This is a chain restaurant, so with Amarillo you always know what you get: big portions of tasty tex mex food. They serve for example tortillas, quesadillas, burgers and steaks.

As for the restaurant in Tampere, the interior was very colourful with short Spanish sentences written on the walls (don't ask me why...). There was a separate area for those who only wanted to have a drink or two. We went there for an early dinner on a Saturday evening after 4 pm and the place was crowded. Thus it was very noisy and the background music was quite loud as well. So, not quite the right place for a quiet, romantic dinner, but ok for a quick meal when you're starving.

Coffeehouse belongs to a chain network and there are two of them in Tampere, one in Keskustori and the other in Hämeenkatu. We tried out the one in Keskustori (the main square). The location is very central and although there's a bus station in front of the cafe, it's not a distraction. The ambience is modern, and there's a separate room at the back if you want more privacy. The service was quick and the girls behind the counter were very friendly.

Favorite Dish: Their chocolate cake was yummy!

This is a nice pub on the main street in Tampere. We were walking up and down Hämeenkatu and when we decided it was time to sit down for a pint, Teerenpeli was right there in front of us. It turned out to be a great choice. The pub has a stylish decor and it was very cosy. Teerenpeli has its own beer, cider and even whisky. The brewery and distillery is in Lahti, where they produce two ciders, ten different beers and Finnish malt whisky. They have another bar in Helsinki as well.

Favorite Dish: I'd recommend the blueberry cider (spiced with real blueberries), it was delicious!

For indulgence without too elegant frames this is a great buffet restaurant. For little money you can eat as much Pizza or Salad as you want. Drinks (coke, sprite, milk, coffee...) are also included. There are many people who stuff themselves full of pizza but I prefer eating salad since there are a great set of ingredients you can use to compose your favorite salad plate.

Restaurant Alexanderin Palatsi is located in the old Finlayson palace on the banks of the Tammerkoski rapids right in the city centre. The Palace is in the middle of a beautiful park, and is an important part of the culture heritage in Tampere. The park was named after Wilhelm von Nottbeck, a distinguished 19th-century businessman. A summer terrace is opened in the park during the summer season. The menu is well and truly in line with the solemn environment...

The best kebab in Tampere. Famous for years for the generous portions for little money. If you want to have a big no-nonsense kebab, you have found the heaven..

Favorite Dish: Pita kebab is the ultimate after bar food.
