Whether you like dark or pale lager, stout or wheat beer, all these tasty beers, and many more, can be enjoyed in the historic surroundings of the Plevna Brewery Pub & Restaurant.
Plevna was established in 1994, in the old Finlayson cotton mills, and it is the only genuine brewery pub in Tampere, producing a vast selection of beers made on the premises. Since its opening, Plevna has been one of the most popular meeting places for local people and visitors alike.
Favorite Dish:
My favorites are: Plevna's Dark ("Plevnan Tumma" 6,30€ per 0,5l), Plevna's Wheat ("Plevnan Vehnä" 6,7€) and Little Black ("Little Black" 5,80€).
And if you are hungry you should take Plevna's sausage pan (bratwurst, Thüringerwurst, herb sausage and small sausages filled with pearl barley. Served with a bacon-onion-potato mix). For men only (or if you are very hungry), there's a lot to eating.
So many of you have told about beers and sausages, that I must tell you, that they also have some other good treats!I simply love their garlic-stake.I found myself allways ordering it..
You can also order Finnish style of meetballs and smashed potatos, some Finnish fishes, and if you ask my mom-good liver(you´d have to pay for me to eat liver..).I like the looks of the place, and menus are fun, made as a newspaper.
The portions have names witch tell about the history of the building. It was building, where Finlaysson, still a big Finnish cloth and sheet-factory started.´
It´s also the same building, where they had Finlands first electric light!
Favorite Dish:
As you red,it is "Valkosipulifriikin päiväuni",witch means"Garlic-lovers daydream".It´s a steak with garlic and garlic potatos. It sweats my mouth to write this ;)
We must go here on weekends, because I can´t smell like garlic at work..
"Whether you like dark or pale lager, stout or wheat beer, all these tasty beers, and many more, can be enjoyed in the historic surroundings of the Plevna Brewery Pub & Restaurant. " as their web site says. Even though I donýt drink beer, their cider is good as well!
Favorite Dish:
Mushroom soup & apple pie with cappucchino (the best cappucchino in town).
Plevna-brewery restaurant
There are almost 50 different beers in this restaurants. They have also their own beers like; Plevna Pils, Plevna dark beer, Plevna Stout, Bock, Pale Ale and ofcourse their own ciders from pear and apple.
In same building there is a cinema. So if you are fancy to let your food settle down; go and see a film.
The brewery restaurant situated in old Cotton mill. Very cosy place.
Favorite Dish:
Escalope á la electrician Andersson. Take this if you are starving. I'm sure you won't be after this.
This is a small brewery restaurant built in the German beerhall style (well, that's what they say :-) However, it is really cozy and the beer is really good. One note here is that the beer brewed there is according to the german Reinheitsgebot (purity law). So there is NO atrificial ingredients in the beer, just hops, yeast, water and malt. Normally finnish beer have some artificial ingredients, which is very bad thing. Try especially mustamakkara, which is a real speciality of Tampere (and the cheapest meal available). As well, the currywurst is really good. If you want real good, traditional finnish food, try Pyttipannu. It is best one in the town (no matter what Teatterikahvila says :-).
Favorite Dish:
Mustamakkara, Currywurst or Pyttipannu.
They brew theyr own beer, and a good beer it is. you gotta try it!
Favorite Dish:
Quite a Bayerish menu, with local influences, such as the 'Musta makkara' (black, blood sausage - if you want to eat a local specialty - this is it!)
