Tillikka, Tampere

The views from the Tillika are truly fab, however that is where the positives end.

We had reserved a table va the internet, yet when we arrived nobody was aware of this. So ok mistakes happen, but i had read a positive review on VT about the food so i was looking forward to the fare we were about to recieve. However my expectations in no way matched the reality. The much heralded mixed starter was no more than a few olives from a jar, a few peepers also from a jar, some well past their best crostini and a sliver of reindeer carpachiio. Not good, so the starters were a non starter really. The main courses of Corn Crusted Roast Chicken, and stuffed pork fillet, were ruined by a very thick salty gravy being poured over the meals. Add to this the fumbling service, and the wine we asked for not being available, and I'm afraid that Tillika is not a resturant i could recommend.

Other very nice place is Tillikka. This is a large Theatre Restaurant located in a beautiful place in the centre. There the prices are lower but still a traditional good Finnish menu. In the summer it’s a great place to sit on the terrace by the river.

This restaurant have been here in Tampere from the year 1912. So the traditions are real :D The location is straight in the center of Tampere, in the same building with Tamperes city theater.
The costoumers consist of really differend kind of people: students, theater actors, artists and the other culture people, not to mention the people who just like a real Tampere atmosphere :D
