No visit to Tampere would be complete without a visit to see the Sara Hilden collection. It is the home to some 3300 works of modern art, from both Finnish and International artists. The collection offers an interesting overview of how modern art has developed over the last 50 years.
The purpose building facility was designed by Tampere architects, Pekk Ilveskoski and associates and has some 2500 sqm of floor space; of which 1500sqm are given over as exhibition space.
There is also a cafe, which never seems to be busy? Not sure why, but the coffee is good.
