A collection of stables from the 19th century was refurbished and has becaome a popular market for sweets, handicrafts and other souvenirs. The atmosphere at this places depends a lot on the season and time. I heard that the Christmas market here is very good, but at the time I was there (around closing time at late summer), I didn’t see something of an atmosphere at all. All in all, this place is a little touristy, but at least, come and have a look at how these stable buildings were refurbished. And if you still need a souvenir from Finland, why don’t buy it here instead from a retail seller where you can buy keyrings made in China?
I allways take my friends here.There´s old block-houses from 1800´s and artisans working in them,and selling staff.At christmastime there´s a "joulupukki"(fateher christmas),and a dunky,lambs and horse or if you are lucky,a reindeer.
At December there´s even more artisans, because there´s little cabins brought there.they also have some other festivals there. For example kind of"Russian day".
Our favourite thing is buy some chokolate from chocolate-shop.It sells many flavours of chocolate from little factory called "Kultasuklaa"(golden chocolate)-sadly not anymore Dammerbergs local chocolate anymore. When they had it,they made it here, and smell was so goood.
You can even buy handmade collar to your dog!
