This picture is from the garden of a very special place. You can find this artist's atelier home at the lake shore of Tuusula. It's made out of huge logs of wood in the national romantic style. • Fishing at lake Tuusulanjarvi

Tuusulanjarvi is rather shallow and muddy but recent rescue measures have helped a lot to improve the quality of water and it is clearer now. Many people like to go fishing there. You'll need a fishing permit, as usual. Only angling in the traditional rod+hook+worm style goes without a permit.

  • Go winter fishing on ice

If it's cold enough and the lake freezes, you can go fishing on ice. You make a hole in the ice and sit by it for hours. Many people think it's great. Be prepared to cold temperature, wear a ski overall or something. Also remember to take some hot coffee in a thermos flask and sandwiches with you.

  • The nature

The best part here is the nature around. You should just walk around, by the lakeshore or the woods. There are cycling roads to walk on by and this can be a very nice day for hanging around in the nature.
