For anyone interested in science! Hosts a changing exhibition and also has Verne theatre where you can see films about science, space, nature etc. Heureka is easy to reach from the centre of Helsinki by local train. Get off at Tikkurila (about 15 min travel time from Helsinki). Heureka is just a few minutes walking distance away from the train station. Leave a Comment

A perfect sample of the Finnish language by Trillian2005 During a freezing Finnish winter, when you're snowed in for months, there's nothing better than learning Finnish while drinking Vantaa vodkaa. You can do it, too! Try it, you'll be amazed how much Finnish you know when spring has arrived. And you'll have lots of empty vodka bottles that can be used as pretty flower vases. Leave a Comment

by Tsakane A bit "funny" maybe; visit the graveyard... The church is really historical! A nice trip by bike! Or by bus (eg. 611 from Helsinki, Railwaystation). Leave a Comment Address: Helsingin kirkonkylä, Vantaa

A snowy day by vec Even a city view like this could be lovely on a day with a blue sky and a lot of snow in the trees. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S The Vantaa City Museum located in the old train station building. It is very small, exhibition changes every few months and the last time I visited this museum because the exhibition was about my favourite country, Namibia. Leave a Comment

It's not known when this now evangelic lutheran church was actually built but at this same spot, there was a wooden church in 1401 and it's assumed that this stone churh was built around 1450-60. It's patron saint, St. Lawrence or Laurentius, was a deacon martyred in Rome in the year 258. Today, this is a very popular wedding church. It's part of the Tikkurila parish and there are services here every Sunday at 10 in Swedish and at 12 in Finnish. Open mon - fri at 9-12 and 13-15 Leave a Comment
