In some suburbs (e. g. hakunila, havukoski, korso, malminiitty..), it's better to take a taxi at night.
There's sometimes some people that can rob and/or beat you up in the worst case, specially if you go to an ATM from bar!
The bars are still fairly safe though, and at daytime it's ok to go walking in the suburbs too.
