Koli National Park in the summer
Gili_S Says: In the summer this park is blooming, a fantastic place for traditional Nordic hiking and you can explorer the forest hills and lakes around here. There are many marked trails for hiking and you can do some wild camping as well but I believe that you are not allowed to light...
Gili_S Says: After collecting all your brochures from the information desk in Koli village, you can just cross the street to this traditional coffee place, get a warm drink and some snack and check out what to do and where to go next.
Gili_S Says: Night life is rather busy here, I mean in the ski resort as everyone want to be in the “after ski” party. There is the hotel pub for that matter.
Gili_S Says: There is surely a way to get to Koli by public transport combined train/flight and local bus. Anyway, the best is to drive of course, the scenery is fantastic and you can visit all the small places and stop where ever you wish.
Gili_S Says: There are few local shops in the area where you can buy ski equipment as well as just the normal tourists souvenirs items.
Gili_S Says: Be aware that in the winter the small roads are covered with snow and ice. It is not that easy to drive if you are not used to it and you should have winter tyres as well.
Gili_S Says: Depends on the season, if in the winter be sure you have the appropriate winter gear, for hiking or ski. If you plan lots oh walking in the deep snow, remember to pack your snow shoes or you can get them here as in the photo :)
Gili_S Says: I guess any trail you take here is a bit off the beaten path. The thing here is that you feel that you are in the middle of nowhere but you are actually not far at all from the civilization, so just enjoy your time and be quiet, you might meet one of the forest inhabitants.
Gili_S Says: Of course the main winter sport in this location is ski. The ski resort has all of its facilities to make it easy for you, elevators will take you back up the hill for your next round.
Gili_S Says: In Koli centre of the village you can find the tourist information, there you can find and collect all the brochures and information that you might need. They can also help you with any questions you might have.
