by Gili_S Most convenience way to get to Kotka is by driving. In the past the road was not that good, but now the road has been improved a lot and part of it is even motorway, it is only 130 km from Helsinki and as you see in this road sign, on my way, was only 300 km from St Petersburg. by Gili_S There is also this small train station in Kotka. There is not real direct connection between Kotka and Helsinki and if you use the train, it will take you more time then the bus ride and you will need to change trains in Kouvola. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S Kotka is rather small city, I mean the centre part of it, you can just walk around, take a break in a coffee shop or a pub and relax in this nice park in the city centre. As long as the weather is good of course. Leave a Comment

by Gili_S I think this was my favourite place in Kotka. A water park build by the sea is a great place for leisure with the kids, walk around, having an ice cream, people & bird watching and most of all, a place to relax. Leave a Comment

by Herttuli Market square On the edge of the square, there is a large, grey, multi-storey building, the City Hall. The largest windows belong to the session chamber of the city council. On the evening of Finnish Independence Day (6th December) a candle burns in every window of t he City Hall. On New Year's Eve, the people of Kotka fill the square to celebrate the start of a new year. Leave a Comment
